You know how it is! Anyway, here goes . . .<\/p>\n<p>So the controls were set for Birmingham in 1975 . . .<br \/>\nBut due to an input error, somehow a landing was made in London 2015. . . .<br \/>\nNot to worry though, for, as fortune would have it, this was exactly the place to be!<br \/>\nAfter travelling via India, eventually a path was forged to The Forum in Kentish Town . . .<br \/>\nArriving slightly later than planned, at a tick before 9pm to be exact, which turned out to be just in time!<\/p>\n<p>A place was easily secured front and centre, as the crowd was still filling out, allowing both excellent viewing and maximum bass absorption. The Dub Band, were on stage casually setting up their gear in a cool calm collected kind of way.<\/p>\n<p>The bass capacity of The Forum\u2019s sound system was being thoroughly tested thanks to DJ Oxman\u2019s excellent spinning selection . . .<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-641\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"DBDB\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/DBDB.jpg 1371w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>. . . Then, boom! Dennis Bovell and his amazing Dub Band (including Mr John Kpiaye providing the guitar licks and chops) dealt a serious bass-heavy blow firing out a slick energetic masterclass of hits and\u00a0first-class\u00a0dub stylings. Superb! The rapidly swelling crowd were engaged and showed their appreciation.<\/p>\n<p>Soon it was time for the main attraction Steel Pulse!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-651\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"peace\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/peace.jpg 1371w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kicking off their set with the excellent Prodigal Son, the masses were immediately lapping it up, dancing and chanting along with the chorus. The whole of 1978\u2019s Handsworth Revolution Album was played (out of track order) everyone a strong song in its own right; Ku Klux Klan, Prediction, Soldiers, Bad Man, Sound Check, Macka Splaff and Handsworth Revolution.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-638\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"baskeys\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/baskeys.jpg 1371w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sound had a marked clarity, with all players being well represented in the mix, solidly underpinned by a mighty bass, allowing Steel Pulse\u2019s material to shine in its brilliantly understated yet masterful melodic musicality.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-643\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"gui\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/gui.jpg 1371w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Following hot on the heels of HR they served up a fantastic selection of classic material including; Drug Squad, Rally Round, Steppin\u2019 Out and many more, not a filler among them, Superb!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-646\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"nrg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/nrg.jpg 1599w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the flawless sound, their amazing stage presence, playful energetic interaction and on-stage antics, saw them dancing and running around the whole stage, ensuring the audience were in their palm throughout. Achieving this by the exterior layer of the biting apparatus!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-652\" src=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax-300x181.jpg\" alt=\"sax\" width=\"300\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax-1024x617.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax-498x300.jpg 498w, https:\/\/eitc.elvisintheclouds.co.uk\/eitc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/sax.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then, arriving at London Bridge in the year 3000, encountering a marauding gang of Mcbusted fanatics, heading south from the O2, who had clearly had a great evening themselves, each to their own! It just goes to show the diversity a city like London has to offer.
